Hipsters and Hip Hop

Hipster, do you listen to Hip Hop?

Or do you only listen to Indie bands?
I suspect you listen to "old" (but not so much) hip hop, i.e 2 Pac, Notorious B.I.G, and Digital Underground (or maybe that's the bay area in me talking), because it's cool to listen to old hip hop. But you probably only know the first few sentences and the chorus.  EH, blow me.
I Love Hip Hop, or at least what I believe is my version of hip hop, Drake, Eminem, Nas, Common, and Luda (we're on a nickname basis me and Luda). I'm also from the Bay Area and like to yell "YOU DON'T KNOW ME" and throw my hand in the air, so I get bonus thug points, and to top that I went to the high school that Dangerous Minds was based on. AND WHAT!

Don't get me wrong I love me some obscure bands, Walk The Moon, Minus The Bear, Geographer, Saves The Car Taking Back Brand New Morning...you get the idea (mash up). Of course in true hipster fashion I love Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, MuteMath, and so on. What about the Dashboard Confessionals, the Alkaline Trios,the Mumford and Sons, and the Ben Kwellers of the world, where do these fit in! Hipsters (among a lot of others) may hate my guts for making this next statement, but I also love Dave Matthews and John Mayer. Yes, I Said it. We are all entitled to our own opinion, except mine is right, and yours sucks. But whatever.

Who and What determines what a hipster listens too?
Can it be quantified by the below questions:

• How many members of the band have lumberjack beards and rapist mustaches?
• Does the lead singer, undoubtedly wearing a flannel, have to have hair longer than mine?
• The obvious, does every member have to wear skinny jeans?
• Can said band be played on the radio?

Take heed of Bay Area's finest 2 PAC. He's also super nice, I met him a couple months ago (his hologram counts, right?)
